WARNING: BEST VIEWED WITH FAMILY!
In recent years Terri has been researching our family history all the way back to Sicily. Last June we were fortunate enough to actually visit the Church San Nicola (Saint Nicolas) were my Grand Parents were baptized and married. Additionally, we have been able to spend more time with the "very impressive" next generation of Lemmo's. They really are truly a brilliant and determined group. I was so inspired by their accomplishments, I wanted to create a video connecting the 60 American decedents of Rosario Lemmo and Josphine Anastasi to their Italian ancestors and the Sicilian village of Randazzo (connecting SIX generations in total). In Italy we captured video in the church San Nicola (Saint Nicolas) where they were married and baptized and many other sites in this small medieval volcano village.
As we scatter more and more with each generation, I realize the importance of families staying together. With social media it is far easier today than it was even 50 years ago, when we lived closer to each other. I'm optimistic that drawing a thread from the past to the present will help renew the importance of "Family and Faith" in our lives. The movie captures a number of current family photos of descendants, photos from Rutland Vermont where our American Lemmo/Anastasi heritage began, and video from 2016 Randazzo Sicily where centuries of Lemmo/Anastasi’s ancestors lived. The message of the movie is the lesson of generations: a home is a house with a loving family, family lov`e is actionable by commitments that are for life, and Love of each other more than one’s self is strengthened through faith.
