Ouray, Colorado is a must-do for any mountain lover, adventure seeker, and hot springs soaker. Over the course of a 2.5-day weekend, we hopped on a plane to get to Denver, got picked up by our friends Hanna & Josiah, and drove 5.5 hours down to Ouray, Colorado.

We stopped two hours out in a surprising and beautiful town called Palisade, Colorado, where we enjoyed a midday pick-me-up of iced tea, coffee, and kombucha. When we arrived in Ouray, we walked Hannah & Josiah’s dog Captain after being cooped up in the trunk for so long in downtown Ouray, saw why Ouray is called the “Switzerland of America”, and headed straight to Ouray Hot Springs.

The hot springs are home to five pools with temperatures ranging from 74 to 104 degrees F, three of which are geothermally heated! Be warned, the pools close at 8 PM, so get there early. We ended the day at Gold Belt Bar & Grill. We were tired, delusional, hungry, and dehydrated, so this food made for a perfect late-night dinner.
