Mehru Jaffer is a Lucknow born author and journalist. She was born and brought up in Lucknow, a certain space in India that is not just a city but a state of being. After graduating in English literature from Lucknow University, a career in journalism was launched with a job at the Pioneer newspaper. She has taught Islam related topics at the University of Vienna, Austria, and at the Vienna American Webster University. She is the author of The Book of Muhammad, The Book of Muinuddin Chishti, and The Book of Nizamuddin Aulia, all published by Penguin India.
