Full review of the 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance, including the dual motor AWD, performance, braking, ride quality, handling, price, features and charging.
The Tesla Model Y Performance AWD model has now arrived in Australia, packing serious punch from its 413kW (553 hp) dual-motor setup that also makes 660Nm of torque. Tesla promises a 3.7sec 0-100km/h time, but we found that the braking is even more impressive in our independent testing.
But what is the ride quality like? The 2023 Model Y Performance arrives with the much-anticipated “suspension upgrade” first seen in production at Tesla’s Giga Berlin factory. It’s now also being built at Giga Shanghai.
But has it worked? Well, kind of – but the Model Y is still one of the stiffest SUVs out there, and you wouldn’t call the ride comfortable or supple. But it is an improvement over the 2022 RWD’s unsettled ride.
