Why does Kabbalah say that there is no such thing as death? What is our true state of existence? What is our actual matter? And what does it mean to ""attain our soul""?
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there is no such thing as death. There is only one soul that is always regaining consciousness of itself.
Since we are each locked into our individual perception, removed from that true perception of reality, we perceive through our five senses as if there was one point where we were born and another point when we die.
We need to understand all this from within the bigger picture: There is an ever-growing desire, and this desire, this soul we exist in, is much greater than the present perception that we can attain about ourselves and the world.
Our perception is limited by what makes us feel good at every moment. We are made from matter called "the desire to receive pleasure for myself," which tries to absorb pleasures at every moment into an empty space within.
The more we develop, the more this desire grows. At the beginning of human development, people had desires only for food, sex, family, and survival, hunting and gathering food all day, and then consuming it.
The more we developed, the more this desire grew. We developed different civilizations and human progress as we know it has all been the result of this ever-expanding desire in us, through desires for money, honor, control, and knowledge.
In our era, our desire for corporeal pleasure is reaching a certain limit, and at this limit, the seed of the soul emerges. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, the seed of the soul is known as ""the point in the heart."" It is a new desire that starts attracting us toward something unknown, beyond the previous corporeal desires, and it is in order for us to start moving to a state where we can perceive the full extent of the soul and everything that there is to attain in our lives: the full perception and sensation of the soul of Adam HaRishon. This is where we all feel totally interconnected and integrated as a single system.
Then, instead of our present perception—seeing and feeling other people and nature that we want to receive from, which defines our current modus operandi—we start perceiving the connections and the space between us filled with a certain energy and force we can attain and work with.
This is a force we can invite into our lives more and more when we move into that space and attain that complete spiritual state of Adam HaRishon. Moreover, when we attain the full sensation of our soul, we will then not need to keep coming back into this world, and as such, we enter a new state called ""the attainment of our soul."
