December 10th marked the International Human Rights Day. Nevertheless, one should always remember that every day all over the world, human rights are not respected. Also very close to us: In Belarus, only a few hundred kilometers from Germany, dictator Alexander Lukashenko uses brutal violence against his own people. Human rights organisations are counting over 900 political prisoners since the peaceful protests against the fake presidential elections in August 2020. And the number gets higher every day.
With the support of Audiolith Records and together with activists from Вясна. Правы чалавека ў Беларусі / Viasna. Human rights in Belarus, RAZAM e.V. - Belarusische Gemeinschaft, BelarusSichtbarMachen, Politzek.me, Belarus Free Theatre, dissident.by and the Coordination Council, we give these political prisoners a voice and share their letters and thoughts from jail.
In this video, listen to Volha Takarchuk's letter read by Chaoze One, supported by Libereco activist Marco.
