These haunting photographs by @reuters show the ruins of Mariupol’s Drama Theatre in the Donetsk region of Ukraine after Russians unleashed a series of air strikes on the building that was sheltering 1300 civilians, including children. The mayor said 300 people died in the attack.
This is just one of the horrors inflicted on the people of Mauripol. The port city in southeast Ukraine has been under siege for a month with a reported 130,000 people still trapped there without food heat or fresh water. The mayor says it’s “90%” destroyed and “every kindergarten is a grave.”
Multiple international attempts to create a humanitarian corridor out have failed - deemed too dangerous. Today there are reports that Russians are moving mobile crematoriums into the city, to destroy bodies and hide evidence of atrocities.
