A comparison of two very similar acoustic guitars with spruce tops and mahogany bodies, one with solid back and sides and the other with laminated back and sides. Both were freshly set up and strung with a new set of D’Addario EJ16 .012 - .053 Phosphor Bronze strings right before filming. The guitars we used for this comparison were the Simon & Patrick Woodland Pro Mini Jumbo (all solid) and the Washburn Comfort Series WGC10 (solid top, layered body). The key difference between the two is the nut and saddle material. The Washburn is equipped with bone parts and the Simon & Patrick has Graphtech Tusq. The rest of the features are very similar: such as body shape, tonewoods, bridge pins and even the tuning machines.
