Shortly after Kieran Ng, 24, got into Nanyang Technological University, she came out as transgender. Elliot, 21, wanted a fresh start at NTU after coming out. Lune Loh, 25, was scared when she found out she was the only transgender student in her residential college at National University of Singapore, especially after some bad experiences with harassment in National Service.
Along with dealing with the stresses of gender transitioning, the three found that they had to navigate unique challenges with their campus housing, being called by their preferred names and pronouns, and finding acceptance in general.
