Best Food in East Harlem! NYC Food Tour Diaries - Patsy's Pizzeria, Chopped Cheese, and MORE.
My personal favourites, today I take you around East Harlem, also known as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, my home away from home. This is where I stay when I'm in New York City as it is where my partner (fiancé - I still can't say that word and take myself seriously) lives. While you can get some of the best hispanic food, with so much variety, the food options here are endless. While also affordable when you go to the right places.
Previously a predominantly Italian neighbourhood, East Harlem is home to one of, if not THE, first pizzerias in town, Patsy's. This is the restaurant where the cast of The Godfather first met and is a favorite pizza spot for many New Yorkers and celebrities alike. Join me as I eat the perfect slice.
Next I head down the street to the birthplace of the Chopped Cheese! A New York Deli staple, this sandwich is the best of the best.
If you're a seafood lover, this neighborhood has you covered as we will get fresh steamed white fish, salmon, shrimp, and veggies from a local fish market. You pick it, they cook it - just how you like. Covered in butter.
And finally, we go to my favorite Mexican spot - or at least my fave nachos - for chorizo nachos and carne enchiladas con mole. You can't leave East Harlem without trying some Hispanic food.
With soooo many styles and options for food in this neighborhood, I hope that you will enjoy taking a virtual food tour of East Harlem with me. This place has a very special place in my heart.
