'Place' has recently become an important issue in the study of the populist radical right, but it is not quite clear what authors mean by referring to it. In our article, we spell out four different aspects of place (place-related attitudes, place-specific living conditions, socio-demographic composition, and a place's local history and culture. We then use finely geo-referenced survey data to find out how important these aspects are for the distribution of populism, nativism, and authoritarianism in Germany.
