What is employee engagement? How do you create engaged employees? Are rewards systems the solution?
Employee Engagement is a largely misunderstood concept that managers/companies undertake through "programs" run in the workplace. However, it is not actually possible to make an employee "engage," because it is the individual's decision. So what do you do as a manager, if anything?
Welcome to Leadership Science! In this segment, we discuss how to create the right conditions for employees to choose to be engaged. The "we" is myself and my daughter/business partner (off camera). She and I had been discussing the history of "management and leadership methods" and the use of incentive/rewards programs within her past companies in non-sales organizations. This led us to our first on-camera interview as part of a series to present essential leadership skills for managers and executives.
We hope you enjoy the video and keep watching. Tell your colleagues too!
