Core bracing is about creating pressure, and you might actually see your abdominal muscles spread your tummy area out wider than it is while relaxed.
I like to imagine I’m turning my core into a protective shell around my stomach while keeping my ribs still (some people say to “knit” your ribs together… that cue might work for you too).
It’s also similar to the feeling of laughing really hard, coughing, or flinching when you think someone might punch you in the tummy.
You should be able to breathe while doing this!
Strengthening your core muscles can also help you more easily find this feeling.
