I took a big risk on this piece and hopefully it will work! What I am trying to do here is soften and tone down the background so that I can add my image on top. I used acrylic inks + water, and then worked the paint with sponge brushes. After a few minutes I then patted down this layer with paper towels (Tip from my mom: use Viva towels. They are the best, I didn’t do that as all I had was Bounty. Viva is more absorbent and doesn’t leave a pattern).

During this process I felt a bit anxious, it was all out of my control. But that’s the fun part too - to just see what happens. Part of this art journey is a lot of this. Letting go, enjoy the process and let the magic happen.
