After a "few weeks" as promised in Pt. 1 :) I decided not to turn another balance but repivot the original. Both end of the balance staff was repivoted with my own home made DIY pivot drilling/pivot polishing tool. One end of the staff was drilled with 0.3mm, the other with 0.2mm carbide drill. In this video You can see how the pivot was shaped on the new insert. Showing only the method for making the pivot thinner and shorter until it fits perfectly between the cap-jewels without any side- and endhsake but spinning freely. The upper pivot is a bit ugly but seems ok function-wise.
