✧ story & lore of “kumiko”

The shadows reveal themselves as doppelgängers, sinister manifestations of our protagonists’ newfound powers. Fascinated by the mystery of the ancient flute “Kumiko”, they sneak into the academy’s vault to experience one of the Seven Wonders first-hand. Ezra, under the influence of his doppelgänger, makes a rash decision to play the melody of “The Song of a Story Untold”, only to realise on his third attempt that he was tone-deaf・・・( ˘ _ゝ˘);;

Cursed into a world of his distorted past, Ezra finds himself trapped in a delusion while memories of him start to fade in the present. Fortunately, our protagonists’ strong connection to each other is not completely lost, and they set out across the multidimension to search for their missing friend. Although Ezra is buried in his painful past, Theodore is able to reach his deep slumbering consciousness to save him before he is lost forever.

Kumiko shatters, the curse breaks, and they are transported back to the present as if nothing ever happened. Someone will have to explain the disappearance of a certain ancient flute though…
