Twelve cities on the Yangtze River in Anhui Province, eastern China, entered an emergency period of flood control because of heavy rains that have devastated large areas of the country.
The 12 cities are located on the banks of the Yangtze, Huaihe and Chaohu lakes, including Hefei, Bengbu and Yuhu, the Anhui province's flood and drought control agency.
On July 26, the major currents of the Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers in Anhui exceeded the warning level and the waters of Chaohu Lake were at the highest level in history.
Areas south of the Hoai Ha River in Anhui are expected to continue to experience heavy rain until 27.7.
In a polar opposite, the China National Meteorological Center on July 25 issued a yellow warning about high temperatures, when the heatwave is surrounding many parts of the country.
On July 25, many areas of Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Liaoning, Hebei and Xinjiang hotter than 35 degrees Celsius, even reaching temperatures of 37 to 39 degrees Celsius, or more than 40 degrees Celsius. C.
The National Meteorological Center warns that people exposed to high temperatures should take protective measures.
China has a 4-level weather warning system, color coded, with red symbolizing the most intense heat, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
