In this episode of our New Orleans travel vlog we are visiting Café Minh to sample their Vietnamese, French & American fusion food. Café Minh is located in the Mid-City neighborhood area of New Orleans at 4139 Canal Street which is about 11 minutes and 3 miles away from the French Quarter. Café Minh offers traditional Vietnamese food favorites along with plenty of creative fusion dishes that combine American and French influences with a dash of New Orleans food culture. Café Minh opened up after Hurricane Katrina and when I worked in this area they were on my regular rotation of lunch spots. Café Minh is the most upscale Vietnamese restaurant in the New Orleans area which also makes them the most expensive Vietnamese restaurant in the area while they do offer some unique items you can’t find at other spots. The greater New Orleans area has a significant Vietnamese population and we have been having an explosion of great Vietnamese restaurants opening up in the area offering great traditional Vietnamese food along with a bit of New Orleans twist often being added. Café Minh is a nice restaurant with their unique Vietnamese fusion food while their higher prices makes this an occasional special occasion restaurant.
