How to Check the Distance Between Two Places in Google Maps
I'm going to show you how to check the distance between two places using Google Maps.
### Step-by-Step Guide:
1. **Open Google Maps:**
- Start by opening the Google Maps app on your device.
2. **Zoom Into Your Area of Interest:**
- Use the search bar to find a specific location or manually zoom into the map to the area you want to measure.
3. **Drop a Pin:**
- Press and hold on the map to drop a pin at your starting location.
4. **Select 'Measure Distance':**
- Once the pin is dropped, swipe up on the location details at the bottom of the screen and tap **Measure Distance**.
- This will open a new interface with a dotted line extending from the pin.
5. **Move the Map to Measure:**
- Use your finger to drag the map and move the dotted line to your second location.
- The distance will automatically update at the bottom of the screen.
6. **Add More Points (Optional):**
- If you want to measure a more complex path, you can add more points:
- Tap **Add Point** and continue to move the map.
- Keep tapping to add more points along your desired path.
7. **Review the Total Distance:**
- At the bottom of the screen, Google Maps displays the total distance calculated between all the points you added.
8. **Adjust Points if Needed:**
- You can move the existing points to adjust the path or add additional points as needed to refine the distance measurement.
### Tips:
- **Removing Points:** Tap on the **Undo** button (arrow) to remove the last point added.
- **Changing Points:** Drag points around to modify the path and measure a different route.
- **Multiple Locations:** Use this tool to measure distances between multiple locations, useful for planning routes for walking, biking, or driving.
