This video is about an Instrument training flight. Localizer 24 approach to KCRQ (Palomar Airport, Carlsbad, CA) starting from VISTA after a VOR A missed approach into KOKB (Oceanside Airport) in North County San Diego, California. I flew with my flight instructor, Andrea Tornielli from Blade & Wing Aviation while training to get ready for my instrument check ride.
We flew out of Carlsbad from Palomar Airport and did a low ("missed") approach over Oceanside Airport, then proceeded to do a Localizer approach with simulated partial panel failure to Palomar airport via vectors North of the airport.
I am a member of the Pacific Coast Flyers and fly out of Palomar Airport. We were flying in one the the club's Piper Cherokees on this day.
