A massive earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 hit Saturday night in the Philippines.
The quake’s epicenter was off the coast of the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.
The quake struck at 10:37 p.m. at a depth of 20 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Videos and photos on X showed frightening scenes as people appeared to cower in the lobbies of hotels and in restaurants with wobbling tables.
