Ashava the Pestilent is the first open world boss that players will be able to encounter during the Diablo IV Open Beta. Ashava’s moveset includes a frontal fist slam AoE ability, a forward biting attack that can one-shot players, a circular swipe that she will do twice back-to-back that also applies damage over time, she will also leave puddles of poison all throughout the map, she has a frontal cone poison spit ability, and finally in the later phases, Ashava will dig her claws into the ground and perform a backwards striking ability that will damage players on either side of her.
Almost all of these mechanics can be completely avoided by standing in melee range, just underneath or directly behind Ashava.
Ashava will also leap periodically, so it might be a good idea to take a movement ability, such as Leap, Teleport, or Shadowstrike in order to easily reposition behind her and get out of the dangerous areas.
During this fight, players can revive each other, or players can choose to revive themselves and take 10% durability damage.
Along with about 4 Legendary items, Ashava will also drop an item called Spoils of Ashava, which can be looted on each of your characters on a Weekly basis. These Spoils will contain various currencies as well as an additional four or so Legendary items. So, if you plan on fighting Ashava multiple times this weekend, I recommend doing it on as many different characters as possible, in order to get even more loot.
During the Diablo IV Open Beta, Ashava will spawn four times in The Crucible area on Saturday, March 25th. These spawn times will be at 10am, 12pm noon, 10pm, and 12am midnight Pacific Time.
