In this video realtor Laci and I are discussing how using real estate websites like Zillow, Redfin and Realtor.com can have pitfalls if you rely on them too much. These websites can be good in the beginning of your search to buy a house in Southern Nevada, but there can be issues. If you're searching for price estimates ("zestimate") on homes in Las Vegas, Henderson or North Las Vegas, keep in mind that these sites are all using algorithms to get their numbers, and they are only able to use the most recent numbers that they are given. A real estate agent can get you up-to-the-minute info on a property changing, where a website cannot. A website will also not be able to recommend a good neighborhood that is to your liking because that website doesn't know you. Also, a realtor will be able to understand your unique situation for purchasing a home, which is something an app cannot do. Laci also shares a crime story where one time she ran into a person running a dangerous scam on a real estate website who was trying to commit fraud by asking for her personal information in order to steal her identity so that they could rob her bank account.
