The Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, is the highest palace of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built in the 7th century and was the palace of King Songtsan Gambo. After the fall of the Tubo Dynasty in the 9th century AD, most of the palaces were destroyed by war. Until 1645, the fifth Dalai Lama rebuilt the Potala Palace. Later, the Dalai Lama successively carried out expansions, so the Potala Palace has the scale it is today.

The Potala Palace has a large collection of gold treasures and historical relics. It is a symbol of Tibetan history and Tibetan Buddhism.
