I live in Anaheim California and I was surprised when the little handheld radio that I got on clearance from Walmart started picking up alt rock station 91x/XETRA which according to Wikipedia transmits from Tijuana on a 100,000 watt transmitter. My home stereo always got the Christian station from Arcadia Air1/K216EM. Acadia is about 30 miles from me and Tijuana over 110 miles away. I can't find any evidence of a repeater for the TJ station but I had no idea FM radio could travel that far even with the strong transmitter. It's pretty interesting hearing San Diego traffic reports and ads for places in Chula Vista all the way up here in Anaheim
