In 1983, Michael Kwan and Tracy Huang (黃鶯鶯) covered the song in Cantonese as "Often in My Heart" (常在我心間), written by lyricist Andrew Lam (林敏驄), for Kwan's album Often in My Heart... Sooner or Later I Love You (常在我心間 ... 愛你不分早晚).[47] The Cantonese rendition became one of the year's top ten songs awarded in the 1983 Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards Presentation.[48] In 1984, the duo re-adapted the song in Mandarin with the same Chinese title for Huang's album Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils / Impulse / nu hai ping zong (天龍八部、衝激、怒海萍踪).
In 2003, Season 3 American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino covered the song on her debut album, Free Yourself.
