Also in this video I show you a great vinegar BBQ sauce that pairs extremely well with pulled pork. I also do an overnight rest on this pork butt by leaving it my oven at 170 degrees F overnight.
This is a sure fire way to get super tender pork that is perfect for pulled pork. This is also a great option if you are looking to smoke your pork butt the day before you want to serve it.
I smoked this pork but on my offset smoker and kept the temperature of my smoker between 250-275 degrees. If you don't have a offset smoker you can still do this recipe using a pellet smoker, weber kettle, or any other kind of smoker you may have.
For someone beginning to learn how to smoke, a pork butt is your best option for a meat to smoke. It is very forgiving and there is very minimal trimming involved which makes it great for a first time smoker. It is very difficult to overcook and even if you end up having dry pulled pork you can just add more sauce which easily fixes the problem.
Be sure to give this recipe a try I'm sure you will be happy with the results.
