The SA Trail Master 4×4 Challenge is undertaken by 4×4 and outdoor enthusiasts to test their skills in on and off-road driving, knowledge of recovery, camping, bush mechanics, first aid and navigation skills.
Each team consists of two people and the challenge is a test of their endurance and skills by day and night where they will navigate a course and complete various obstacles. Each crew/team consists of a driver and co-driver/navigator, and will face intense scrutiny during the challenge as they are judged on the various disciplines set out for them. This will ensure a highly competitive and entertaining spirit throughout the gruelling elimination rounds, as well as during the five-day final which takes on a wide range of manmade and natural obstacles, including lush forests, arid plains, raging rivers and everything in between.
During The Finals you can expect the following stages:
• Mystery stage
• Precision driving
• Off-road obstacle driving
• Emergency evasive manoeuvres and skid control
• On road defensive driving
