In the past, a basic 155 mm bullet used to cost around $1,000 to $1,500. But now, the price has gone up a lot. Rheinmetall, a big defense company in Germany, recently told everyone that they got a new contract from the German government to make bullets for artillery.
The contract stipulates the creation of over 100,000 units of 155-mm ammunition via Expal, a Spanish company Rheinmetall recently acquired in November 2022 for a hefty sum of 1.2 billion euros. Additionally, the production of an unknown quantity of high-explosive DM121 ammo has been included in the deal.
