Jordan Day 4 - Minivlog (day 158 of full time travel)
WHAT WE DID
- Full day in Petra!
- Entered from the back, jeep ride, hiked to the Monastery.
- Explored the main walkway through Petra (tombs, temples, theater)
- Hike up to the High Place of Sacrifice
TIPS / OPINIONS
1️⃣ Jordan pass covers the Petra entrance fee.
2️⃣ If you are interested in seeing the Monastery, I would enter from the back and take a jeep it costs $10. (plus the taxi ride there -$15). The jeep ride is 30 minutes, if you don’t take it, it’s another 2 hour hike.
The Monastery is all the way at the back of the park. Getting to the Monastery from the entrance would take 2-3 hours just to arrive. Entering from the back with the jeep let’s you save your energy (go down the hill instead of up) and means you get to enjoy the monument with SIGNIFICANTLY less people.
3️⃣ From what I observed, the animals in Petra aren’t treated very well. I personally would refrain from any animal activities in the park.
4️⃣ Bring food and water! There are restaurants but they are very expensive!
PRICE - Two people in USD
Day 158: $204.02
- Accommodations: $60.05
