The original music video for 'Flying With The King' was created by
highly acclaimed Director Duncan Toombs and features Lee on
piano, 12 year old Flethcer Pillon (who plays a young Lee), and
rare archival footage from the original Slim Dusty movie. Lee
said, "It was back in the late nineties. I was booked to fly from
Sydney to Perth to play a Festival in Mandurah WA the next day. I
boarded the flight and as I got to my seat I realised I would be
sitting next to the King of Country, Slim Dusty. For the next 5 or 6
hours we flew across Australia together. The memories of that
flight will stay with me forever and now they've been turned into
a song on the Beautiful Noise album." When I saw Duncan's edit
of the video it brought back a lot of emotion to the surface and I
think a lot of people will feel that way when they see the video.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the passing of Slim.
Through the life he lived and the music he made, Slim became a
part of the fabric of our society. In so many ways he was
Australia," says Lee Kernaghan.
