Hello welcome to MooMooMath where we upload a new Math video every day
This video will briefly cover how to read a decimal. Before we get started let's review some of the basics of a decimal.
Now that we now a little bit about decimals let's go ahead and practice reading a couple of them. Let's start with an easy example. Let's start with the following decimal 2.45 The way you would read this number is 2 and at the decimal insert an "and" then read from left to right and start at tens and go to hundreds. So this becomes 2 and forty-five hundredths. So two and forty-five hundredths. Let's go with 45.3 becomes forty-five and three-tenths, Remember you start at tens. Next 573. 3545. We have five hundred and seventy-three and three thousand five hundred and forty-five and then tens hundreds, thousands, ten thousand so it becomes three thousand and forty-five ten thousandths. Finally, let's go with one more for good measure. Let's go with 2.383. Again two and three hundred and eighty-three thousandths Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and we upload a video every day.
