Tania León, Distinguished Guest Composer at the Chicago Center for Contemporary Compositino in 2019-20, discusses her new work for the Grossman Ensemble titled "Rítmicas". Full of Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms, Rítmicas is a riveting new work inspired by Cuban composer Amadeo Roldán's work by the same name.
The Grossman Ensemble, the resident ensemble of the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition, premieres León's "Rítmicas" Friday, December 6 at 7:30 pm in the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts. Tickets are $15, free with valid student id.
