On January 1, 2016 Saskatoon Conservation Officers received a dead Snowy Owl that had been found on Tamke Road approximately 4 miles east of highway 11, south of Saskatoon. Upon investigation Conservation Officers determined that the owl had been shot with a rifle. It is illegal to shoot owls in Saskatchewan, which are a protected species under the Saskatchewan Wildlife Act. Violations can also be reported online at saskatchewan.ca/conservation. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if your information leads to a conviction.
