The second day of Apollo 17's mission on the Lunar Surface took place on December 12, 1972. During this EVA they performed tons of science and recovered many samples from the surface. It was in this EVA that the astronauts also set the record for the furthest distance from the Lunar Module, 4.7 mi (7.6 km). Additionally, this was the longest EVA, lasting over 7.5 hours. This is the film recorded during the first EVA by the Apollo TV Camera.
