This is as close to a confession as we'll get from GoPro fans, saying this isn't a fair test since this is only the Silver. I Shot this static so FPS wouldn't matter. The GoPro 4 Silver has the same lens and sensor as the 4 Black. Check out these other videos comparing the GoPro 4 Silver to the GoPro 4 Black and you'll see they are identical and for some reason the Silver seems to look better than the Black in some cases?

Here the GoPro does better than my last test and you can see the sharpening that the DJI Inspire puts on by default.
The GoPro 4k is also lower resolution than the Inspire and is most definitely softer. I had it set up on a small tripod next to the Inspire after a flight.
Realistically they are both very good cameras but the Inspire and presumably the Phantom 3 cameras definitely outperform the GoPro offerings so far.
With heavy colour grading and post processing you could make both cameras produce fantastic shots but the Inspire has more detail and data to work with.
Once again to everyone harping on about how the GoPro is better than the Inspire, put up or shut up. EVERY video I've seen shows the Inspire being better, expect the Phantom 3 to outperform the GoPro as well.
Specs if interested:
DJI 4k - 4096 x 2160, 41 seconds, 306.7MB, 25FPS
GoPro 4k - 3840 x 2160, 41 seconds, 243.4MB, 15FPS
I can see the GoPro is much sharper up close within 2 metres but that makes sense since it was designed to be an Action Cam.
Interestingly when I crop the GoPro to have the same field of view as the Inspire it comes out as 2730 x 1535 which is a touch over 2.7k.
It's possible DJI may update the Inspire to do 2.7k at 60 FPS like the GoPro but unlikely.
