In this regard, On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, a function organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association at the SC lawns, Chief Justice NV Ramana expressed his concern on how laws are being passed in parliament without proper discussion, deliberation, and quality debates. CJI says parliamentary debates are in a sorry state of affairs and lack of quality debates leads to a lot of litigation. Calling it a “sorry state of affairs”, CJI further adds, "Parliament was filled with lawyer community. Unfortunately, over a period of time, you know what is happening in the Houses that is the legislation in parliament or Rajya Sabha or Lok Sabha”. Listen in!
