I remembered watching this emotional scene when I was in the sitcom phase and was extremely moved by it. Last month, I rewatched this scene on youtube very randomly, and was "surprised" at the minimalist approach to the background score that was used for this scene. Obviously, the original tied up really well in context of the rest of the show - and the scene after this had "Shake It Out" by Florence and the Machine which definitely suited the scene.
I wanted to practice scoring to picture and thought the emotions in this particular scene would really be apt to have a go at.
May have overdone it in the second half with the violins and choir but I wanted to build it up before Robin says no.
I don't own any of the footage and dialogue used, all rights belong to the creators of the show.
