Every artist constantly find themselves in the position to give their "art" elevator speech. Whether it be at an art opening and the need to make "artist remarks," or meeting an interested client who wants to know more, or talking to an art gallery that you'd like to represent you, there are myriad times that an artist is called upon to tell their story. With a few simple tips that she has used as a lifelong communicator, Lisa Belisle provides a framework for you to prepare your story in advance of that next opportunity. Since we know that story redundancy is very effective, we encourage you to go back to your constructed story over and over again, adapting it slightly along the way. In this presentation, Lisa is joined by four Portland Art Gallery artists who model this basic narrative formula in the telling of their own art story.
