Another chamber a lot of people get stuck on, mostly because of the final fling. Sadly, the most reliable way I know of only works once (unless you save the game beforehand) and, if you fail, you'll have to use a somewhat less reliable backup. It's still good enough to get you through.
It's theoretically possible to pull this off without crouching, but that makes things less reliable and more finicky... and, as you'll see in this video, there's solid proof Prelude's creators consider crouch jumping to be 100% valid.
Also, you get to see me falling down into the pit before getting the portal gun like a complete doofus. Luckily, the map lets you out if you do so, and from there, things go a lot more smoothly. ;)
This video is quite long for this map, partially because of explanations and partially because I show (and rant about) a small easter egg at the end. Seems I'm running into this problem a lot, but I don't think I can always make these videos significantly shorter without making them less clear. The next video should be a shorter one.

- Why a mod from 2008?
For one, people still play it. The most recent LP I've seen is from this very year. Also, I enjoy it. Mostly, at least.
- What makes this walkthrough different from the official one?
My methods are more reliable and easier to execute than others. Skill is still a factor, but my tactics are a lot less finicky than others. And I mean A LOT.
- What are the "ground rules" for this walkthrough?
1. No console. (duh)
2. No glitches. (duh)
3. Crouch jump is allowed since Prelude's creators are OK with it.
4. Portal peeking is allowed because *I* am OK with it. In Portal 1, where portal projectiles have travel time, it makes perfect physical sense. I understand Valve doesn't like this trick and tried to fix it in Portal 2, but it has been seen as valid in glitchless Portal 1 playthroughs by many people, including myself. (Also, it makes the first half of Prelude's chamber 19 actually sane)
5. You get to see the least finicky, least difficult to execute tactics that I know of under the rules above, with detailed explanations.
