What is the Healthiest Cheese?
At the grocery store, you’ll find different types of cheese - cheddar cheese, mozzarella, cheese sticks, processed cheese, etc.
But did you know that not everything that’s packaged and labelled as “cheese” is actually real?
When cheese shopping, you have to realize that there are smart buys and there's some not quite so smart buys. There's a lot of imitations. There's a lot of wanna-be the king of cheese, so you need to be aware of this because it's very important for your health.
First of all, remember you do not want to be an experiment. And so anytime we eat a food that's been heavily processed or it's a fake imitation, then it's an experiment.
We want to eat real food.
Is There Healthy Cheese at the Store?
My very first choice when choosing cheese is I want raw cheese.
Raw cheese means it hasn't gone through all of the extra processing. It hasn't gone through a lot of extra chemicals added to it and flavorings, things like that. It's just cheese.
Is cheese good for you?
Absolutely!
Cheese is very helpful. It can be very much a great calcium source. But if you're going to buy the fake stuff, you're going to pay a price.
This is why you need to be very careful when buying cheese.
When you see the word “imitation”, steer clear of that cheese right away. It’s not good for you.
You know right away this is not going to fit with the three principles that we teach with treasures of healthy living.
You also want to use your own slicer and processor instead of buying those cheese slices or cheese sticks. The non-processed ones are definitely the best.
Another thing to look for in a healthy cheese is the ingredients. Stay away from additives, preservatives, and all those chemicals you don’t need in your body.
Stick only to all-natural, raw, and organic cheese from a reputable source, so you can get maximum benefits to your health and avoid those nasty things that imitation and fake cheeses have.
