This video shows the surgical technique for a lower lip lift. A lower lip lift is a surgical procedure used to increase the amount of red show and the plump nests of the lower lip. It is an excellent adjunctive procedure for facial rejuvenation cases. It can also be a stand-alone procedure or can be performed in conjunction with an upper lip lift.

The lower lip lift video here shows the marking for a V to Y type lower lip left performed on the mucosal surface of the lower lip. Following markings, anesthesia, incisions, advancement of the flap, and closure of the incisions is all shown. The purpose of this video is to explained to patients what happens during a lower lip lift procedure.

As we age, we all know that we get excess skin and laxity along the jawline and neck. However our lips also show aging. One of the other videos on my channel shows rejuvenation of the upper lip using an external upper lip lift procedure. The lower lip involute's on itself thereby reducing the amount of red show. To rejuvenate the lower lip, I prefer this type of procedure to minimize the appearance of an external scar.
