On August 13, 2020, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) presented a virtual childhood cancer lecture featuring Samuel Volchenboum, MD, PhD. Dr. Volchenboum’s presentation discusses how the Pediatric Cancer Data Commons at the University of Chicago is uniting researchers around the world to improve collection of data from children with cancer, with the goal of transforming pediatric cancer research.
During the lecture, participants will:
1.) Learn about the current state of pediatric cancer research that inspired the creation of the Pediatric Cancer Data Commons (PCDC).
2.) Understand how the PCDC fosters consensus-based decision-making and data sharing through its structure and governance.
3.) Gain insights into how the PCDC fits into the Cancer Research Data Commons ecosystem and WHO Initiative for Childhood Cancer.
