You wanted to know when you should have your first prenatal appointment, because you just found out you are pregnant, but you've had irregular periods and so you're not sure how far along you are. And I recommend picking and choosing an OB provider of your choice, calling their office and letting them know that you've seen that positive result but have a history of irregular periods. After asking you more specific questions, they'll determine when you need to be seen, and likely, it will be sooner rather than later since you don't know how far along you are. And one of the first things they'll do when you go to your appointment is confirm the pregnancy and then establish a due date, and this can be done a couple of different ways.
If a woman has been having irregular periods, then the woman's last menstrual period date can be used, but if you don't have that, then an ultrasound is usually done to see how big the growing baby actually is. And during the 1st trimester of pregnancy, a fetus (or the baby inside of you) will grow at a very consistent rate, and so they measure the size of the baby, and if the baby is measuring 9 weeks, then you're reliably 9 weeks along, and that way, your doctor can establish a reliable due date going forward. Good luck with everything, and if you have more questions in the future for me, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at [ Ссылка ], and recommend us to your friends and family too.
