On what seemed like a typical day, retired Jacksonville Police Department Officer J.C. Lanier didn't expect to become a newsmaker. He was out riding a lawn mower when he heard a loud noise and discovered he was bleeding profusely. At Onslow Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department, doctors, nurses and technicians worked to stop the bleeding and diagnose the cause. Mr. Lanier was shocked to learn that he had been shot twice. In a behind-the-scenes glance at a prominent local news story, Mr. Lanier shares his experience as a patient at OMH: "If you're in Onslow County and you have a problem, Onslow Memorial Hospital is the place to go."
