Constant development to us at Zilla not only means testing new gear but also means analysing old gear too. The down side of this is you often end up with a load of duff old speakers from ebay. We recently purchased what was supposed to be a lovely pair of 1967 Celestion alnico silver speakers (very similar to the modern Blue) and were very exciting to give them a blast. After not very long it became clear that they weren't up to scratch and definitely not as described. Since we had our blood up for playing some alnico speakers we thought we would plonk a brand new Alnico Blue in a cab and give it a whirl...... and what a fantastic speaker it is.
