Join us on a weekend of fun and adventure in Bridlington.
The weekend starts off straight forward, an hour and a half drive to Bridlington Caravan and Motorhome Club site. Because I have not been very well, we requested a pitch close to the facilities, couldn't really get much closer; we were just opposite.
We quickly got the caravan on pitch and had the canopy awning up in no time at all, leaving us with plenty of time to chill out with a drink, and plan our tea, which turned out to be Pasta with Chicken and Peas from our Caravan Meals playlist. The meals are also available for download.

Saturday, we took a walk to Sowerby Hall, which is a lovely place to explore, and there are a lot of family things to do, including a selection of animals and a petting zoo. The kids will love it. But we were here to catch the land train into Bridlington; £6 return for the two of us. We love exploring the little shops and picked up the usual fridge magnet and a variety of other knick-knacks. Lunch time, and we were on the hunt for some fish and chips, which we found just up the slope from the harbour side, on the left, away from the pesky seagulls. After spending a few quid in the amusements, it was time to indulge in an ice cream. Well, you have to, don't you? We are not big drinkers, but we did enjoy a drink, or two, in the sunshine.
Sunday, and we were up bright and early to get into Bridlington for a boat trip and the Yorkshire Belle towards Flamborough Head. Somehow we got our timings wrong, as the boat we turned up for was going to Filey, and I'm a true Yorkshire woman, and I wasn't about to hand over £60 for two tickets to Filey. We came back at the required time for the Flamborough trip. We loved the trip, the commentary from the crew over the public address, very informative, and the bar was open in the lower saloon. Well, I don't mind if I do...
Back at the caravan, we had home-made burgers and some hot dogs, along with some salad. It was fabulous. Followed by a bit of chill time, and then it was time to start packing. Down with the canopy, put the chairs away, stow the table back in the caravan, and put the Cadac away until next time.
Monday morning was a well oiled clock, breakfast of toasted muffins, and a cup of tea, followed by stripping the bed and securing all of the caravan decorations safely away. Then raise the legs and hitch up; we were off on our way home. We packed up a bit quicker than usual as I had to get back for a doctor's appointment.
We really enjoyed our weekend in Bridlington; it had a little bit of everything, which is enough to keep us coming back for more. Do you fancy Bridlington?
