I carded out some Flax Tow and made a few small batts of tow fiber. I'm calling it Field Wool. It is soft and has similar staple lengths as wool. When carding you get different lengths within the batt and then you roll it into a carded rolag for spinning. The wool I used was nearly the same color but the color of the Flax came through. I did abut a 50/50 mix of wool and flax tow fiber. The wool has a little lanolin left. The texture is different than either by themselves. The rolag felt sticky when I was rolling it up on the card. Neither like Flax alone or Wool alone. A strange yet cool texture. So here is the process of the blend and spin. It resulted in a nice small sample. Im calling the finished yarn Woolin Yarn. Yes, it is spun Woolen. Im going to blend some without out lanolin and a dark color.
