Sri Lanka's first leftist president Anura Kumara Dissanayake was sworn in to office on Monday (Sep 23) , vowing to restore public faith in politics but said he had no magic solution to the hardships suffered by his people following an unprecedented economic crisis. Asanga Abeyagoonasekera, executive director of the South Asia Foresight Network at think tank The Millennium Project, discusses with CNA’s Asia First what Dissanayake needs to do to steer Sri Lanka out of its economic misery.
