Talk about an unusual place! I went into an abandoned tungsten mine to search for an elusive swimming hole 500 feet underground that I've heard residents from the area talk about for the last five years or so. I had been in this particular abandoned mine before but never located the flooded lowest levels where the locals swim. Paul and I set descended the mine's inclined shaft to the 300-Level so that we could search for the swimming hole. After endless tunnels and artifacts, we found it! Or at least the very, very dangerous way to access it. The old "rock test" confirmed that the swimming hole's icy water is, indeed, very deep in the bottom-most levels of this abandoned mine.
